Geek Credit 0.016. Geek Credit is a digital community currency for the Internet. It is decentralized, secure, and interest and demurrage free. It is backed by mutual credit (time). There is no central issuing and control authority, so it is a true peer-to-peer currency. [freshmeat.net]

Intersting.  Imagine adopting this to the teknoids community to cover things likes managing FAQs, book reviews, contributing to script pools, etc.  Each contribution has some community value that can be exxchanged for something else, like access to scripts, an hour of Elmer, etc.

DR DOS lives. I'm probably not the only one around who thought DR DOS had seen its last headline. But there it was, on Yahoo PR News: DR-DOS 8.0 Ships, Advancing DOS as the Best Embedded OS. The much-storied DR DOS is now part of the DeviceLogics product line. DeviceLogics is a startup firm in Lindon, Utah, which is also home to The SCO Group. AT&T Rolls Out Do-It-Yourself VOIP. AT&T rolled out its do-it-yourself voice-over-IP service on Monday, allowing customers to add a VOIP phone to an existing broadband connection. The service includes a quasi-"presence" feature that will route calls to the appropriate phone. [eWEEK Technology News]
