SourceForge.net: Project Info - Java Outline Editor (JOE) - This is an outliner and MDI implemented in Java Swing. The GUI is similar to the outliner found in Userland's Frontier. Requires Java 1.3 and has been tested on 98/NT/2000 and MacOSX. Linux and Solaris also work but still have minor issues.

Apple Server Is Impressive - Apple Computer Inc.'s Xserve blends the power and flexibility of Unix with the usability of the Mac OS X 10.2 operating system in an attractive 1U (1.75-inch) rackable server.

The Xserve definitely stands out in the crowd of rack-mountable dense server offerings. Its blend of functionality, usability and cost (when you factor in the lack of user license fees, which make NetWare and Windows systems less appealing) is unparalleled.

Buzz is a note taking system that attempts to integrate/synergize with most digital document formats. The semantic glue that holds references to other documents is an outline format originally pioneered by Userland, OPML. Buzz extends OPML with X reference capabilties allowing Topic Map like functionality. In plain english this means that one can either import data from almost any document or link/embed any document that is better presented in some format other than an outline. I developed Buzz to take notes on the field of Orthopedic Surgery. I currently have > 100 megabytes of notes. Buzz uses X-links between files to allow efficient navigation. In addition a cross file search produces X-Links directly to relevant material. Buzz runs on Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, iPaq "

Don't limit yourself to a floppy: Create an emergency repair CD - Although traditional floppy emergency repair disks (ERDs or boot disks) can be a lifesaver when it comes to troubleshooting an OS crash, they suffer one significant drawback. They are limited to only 1.44 MB of space—and the boot files (Io.sys, Msdos.sys, and Command.com) consume a sizable amount of this space. However, you can create a bootable CD from a floppy disk that functions very similarly to a boot floppy, with greatly expanded space available for drivers, utilities, and anything else you might need.
