RE: [teknoids] E-Voting [Teknoids mailing list]
Things to consider for online voting/polling systems:
  • kiosks vs direct online
  • verification
  • receipt and non-repudiation
  • ballot construction
  • starting and stopping times
  • results
  • multiple media
  • testing Q&A
  • interface
The post is worth reading for a concise listing of the things you should consider if you were off to build an electronic voitng/polling system.

Of blogs and wikis. The quality of Wikipedia entries emphasise the main strength of Wikis: a depth born of multiple authors working together to hone material. This contrasts with the blog, which shines in its ability to offer one person's quirky and brilliant insights across what may be a vast and often contrasting spectrum of subjects. [Netcraft]
I often find myself  trying to explain the difference between a wiki and a blog.  This article does a decent job of laying out the difference as well as providing a bit of history.
