"Samba" Open Source Server For Windows Desktops Upgraded To Enhance NT 4 Migration (TechWeb). TechWeb - Samba was upgraded to Version 3.0 on Thursday. The new version is designed to make migrating from Windows NT 4 easier, and supports Kerberos authentication, LDAP directory services, and integrates with Microsoft Active Directory. Samba is an open source project that allows Windows clients to connect to servers running Linux and other operating systems for file-sharing printing and user authentication. [Yahoo!
