Groklaw Teaches the Law Partial Summary Judgments - by AllParadox. A Groklaw member, AllParadox, is a retired attorney, so I asked some questions a couple of weeks ago about something he'd written, and in the course of the conversation, it dawned on me that you'd probably be interested in having him explain a few things, like what a partial summary judgment motion is and how it differs from a dismissal, so I asked him to write something for Groklaw.  [GrokLaw] This is a very interesting side effect of Groklaw: it is becoming a place to learn about the law.  In the course of following the SCO debacle, Groklaw visitors are absorbing quite a bit of information about the basics of civil procedure, complex litigation, securities and more.  It isn't likely that this was the intent of Groklaw at the beginning, but as time goes on an education function is growing here. 12:53:44 PM    comment []  trackback []
