"Virtual desktop manager" patent granted to Microsoft. Microsoft gets another software patent and, not surprisingly, another programming community is disgusted. [Ars Technica]

Actually, MSFT has only applied for the patent.  The application is from October 2003, so there is plenty of time to fight this one.  Slahdot has the following:
