Critics say Microsoft IE changes premature. Microsoft Corp. may be unnecessarily forcing developers to rewrite large portions of the Web, say members of the Web development community who fear that the software giant's plans to bring its Internet Explorer browser in compliance with a recent software patent ruling against the company are premature. What we are seeing here is the problem with tie-in to a single vendor.  This is a major problem.  MSFT is actively pursuing an appeal of this decision on several levels, yet they are forcing developers to alter the way pages are written.  This is real muscle-flexing.  BTW, don't get me started on the evils of software patents...
