Top Ten Law Firm Web Sites
Top Ten Law Firm Web Sites:"The verdict is in. Open the envelope please. The 2004 IMA (Internet Marketing Attorney) awards for the best law firm Web sites were released on June 7, 2004. The top winner. . . ? This year it was a tie between previous perennial powerhouses Faegre & Benson, Kilpatrick Stockton, and Morrison & Foerster, all achieving a score of 46 out of a possible 50 points. Bullivant Houser followed close behind with a score of 45 points as did my law firm, Holland & Hart, with 44 points." tblogger v0.23b released (tBlogger). Total project downloads to date: 293 Project description: A complete blogging solution written in C# and ASP.NET which uses an XML file as the backing store and therefore does not require a database. Works out of the box and has been designed with future extensibility in mind. [Download] [Release Notes] By telysium@users.sourceforge.net (Phil Chong). [SourceForge.net: Project File Releases (Site-wide)] Umm, ever hear of RSS or Atom? The developer of this project just decided to go ahead and write his own XML format for storing blog entries apparently without any particular goal in mind. Here's the XML: <Blogs> Well, it is simple. But why? I understand the desire to do something like this as an exercise, 'I can create a better blog'. Heck, I've done it. I don't think there is a need to setup a SourceForge project for it. With the release of the Express versions of Visual Studio tools from MSFT, I suspect we are going to see a lot more of this sort of simplistic development wrapped in 'I'm a web developer' banners. Imagine SourceForge just full (more so than now) of this sort of stuff:-( 2:46:08 PM ![]() |
RSS Feeds @ PC World. I didn't realize how many RSS Feeds PC World has (about 20). Syndic8 only listed one. Most of them are updated daily, which is fine. Color me impressed (again, that's a dark shade of green). [Library Stuff] Most of the feeds are 'Today's Most Popular...' items from PC World product finder. Pretty handy. 2:25:29 PM ![]() |
LEWIS, DIRECTOR, ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OFCORRECTIONS, et al. v. JEFFERS. Decided 06/27/1990 [Recent decisions of the US Supreme Court] Sweet. Looks like LII produced an RSS file containing all the cases it has in its collection, running back to 1991 at least. What a tremendous resource. I've grabbed a copy before it gets over written. I'll get it online shortly. 1:44:46 PM ![]() |
Microsoft Offers A Peek At New Search Engine
from the beta-but-working dept. ObsessiveMathsFreak writes "The Inquirer is reporting that Microsoft is offering a preview of its new search technology. The search engine preview has a minimalist interface, similar to Google. Microsoft claims over one billion web pages searched, but admits the fact that searching is a little slow. This technology hasn't yet been incorporated into MSN Search, though the site claims it eventually will be. In related news, the Financial Times is reporting that Microsoft are to improve the regular MSN Search site by removing paid advertisements from regular internet searches, a move that will cost them 'tens of millions of dollars.' Are the Search Engine Wars finally upon us?" [Slashdot] Interesting. tried a search for 'teknoids' that yeilded nothing and further attempts at searching only generated errors and requests that I try again later. Plus, it is sssslllloooowwww. 1:22:52 PM ![]() |

Customizing GNOME. Red Hat and Sun have showed us that GNOME can be both nice to look at and fun to use. However, GNOME is horribly bland in its natural state, and fixing it so that it's more palatable seems like such a daunting task. But what if you could do your own Bluecurve-like customizations and turn a boring and annoying default GNOME installation into a thing of beauty and productivity in about 20 minutes?
